I always liked collecting points but hated having to carry a lot of cards in my wallet. I used to have a folder on my email storing all my miles programs which made me have part of my loyalty numbers in my email, part in my wallet, and a big part of them forgotten in a drawer.

Fortunately, nowadays we can have it all in one place, our mobile phones. What app do you use for that?

My favourite app for storing those cards is called Stocard but there are other apps for that. Today I will compare it to Google Pay and AwardWallet.

Stocard

Stocard app allows you to manually input all your loyalty programs numbers even if you can’t find the brand in the app, I mean, big brands will be found when you search for their names but if a brand, small or large, is not in the app you still can store your loyalty card number in the app.

It’s quick and easy to use after you have all your cards in the app it’s so simple to find what you need.

You can also use it to store coupons, you basically can store anything that has a bar code or a QR code.

I also like the possibility of sharing the cards with other people, this way my boyfriend and I can both collect points on the same card when doing our groceries

Stocard vs Google Pay

Lately, I have only been using my phone to make payments, I love Google Pay for that but when the matter is storing loyalty cards Google Pay has two small problems that make it difficult to use.

First of all, how can I find the card I need if there isn’t a search bar to filter the cards? You have to scroll down to find what you need among dozens of loyalty cards.

Maybe when you are reading it Google already released an update for the app adding a search bar but at this moment Stocard is much easier to navigate.

The second feature that makes Stocard better is the ability to add a card even though the company is not registered in the app, can’t find the brand you want? Just click on Other card and add it anyway.

Stocard vs AwardWallet

AwardWallet is a platform specialised in helping you track all of your loyalty points. It means that it does not only store your loyalty cards but it tracks your points and alerts you when it’s about to expire. For that, you have to provide your user and password so that they can literally access your account daily to track changes on your points. You might find it dodgy, the company says that all sensitive data is encrypted and it offers two-factor authentication.

Although the idea sounds great having a robot storing your cards and alerting you before they expire so you can transfer your points if the program allows it, the platform does not support all reward programs so if you are looking for how to store loyalty cards keeping them all together and easily accessible Stocard is still a better choice.
